| 軍服・脱帽姿のこの像は陸軍大将時代に一晩中雨に濡れながら明治天皇の警護にあたっていたときの姿を表しています。1937年に完成したもので、その高さは5.7mあります。 |
| The statue depicts Takamori Saigo in his military uniform, but without his hat. The statue is meant to represent Takamori Saigo keeping guard for the “Meiji Emperor” while getting wet in the rain all night long. It is 5.7m high and it was made in 1937. |
