| 日本初の洋式紡績工場である鹿児島紡績所にて技術指導をしていたイギリス人技師が利用していた宿舎です。正式名称は「旧鹿児島紡績所技師館」で、その洋風な外観から異人館と呼ばれています。1966年に国の重要文化財に指定され、また2015年には世界文化遺産にも登録されています。 |
| It was built as a residential complex for British engineers who were invited over to Japan to assist in the spinning mill construction and management. This is officially known as “the Formerly Kagoshima spinning plant engineer Museum” and it is called the Ijinkan because of its western appearance. It was designated as an Important Cultural Property in 1966 and it was added to the World Heritage List in 2015. |
