| 西郷隆盛をはじめ桐野利秋（きりのとしあき）、村田新八（むらたしんぱち）など西南戦争で亡くなった陸軍兵士が埋葬されています。敷地内には西郷隆盛の偉業をたたえる西郷南洲顕彰もあります。 |
| This cemetery is a final resting place for Takamori Saigo and many other Satsuma troops who fought in Seinan War such as Toshiaki Kirino and Shinpachi Murata. The site also includes the Saigo Nanshu Memorial Museum, which pays tribute to Saigo and was established marking the 100th anniversary of his death in 1977. |
